Combined Research and Curriculum Development in Information-Centric Systems Engineering

This paper describes a multidisciplinary program of research and curriculum development in Information-Centric Systems Engineering currently underway at the Institute for Systems Research, University of Maryland, College Park. This work is supported by a significant grant from the National Science Foundation and industrial funds from US industry. After motivating the need for an information-centric approach to systems engineering education, this paper describes the research methodology, pathway from research to curriculum development and teaching, and architecture for web-based project deliverables.
